Summer Programs
The perfect enrichment opportunity for high-achieving science students is a summer program available at different UC campuses, depending on your interests. Tuition will likely be waived for students who get free or reduced lunch tickets, but you still have to pay the $30 application fee. This is a bargain, because it covers the cost of the program and the cost of living on a UC campus for several weeks!

Provide students who identify as an underrepresented minority in medicine and science with the opportunity to learn hands-on laboratory-based research and to support them in their quest to become scientists or physician scientists. Eligible students are those who are applying in the Fall of their Junior year of high school, and who have a strong interest in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

George Washington University Science & Engineering Apprenticeship program (summer)
The Washington University Summer Engineering Fellowship (WUSEF) program is designed to encourage exceptional students from first generation or disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in engineering research. Fellows will enjoy a rewarding summer research experience at one of the nation’s top universities.

John Carroll University (Summer Programs)
Students are able to choose one program out of 6 total programs offer based on their own interests. Please refer to the website to see the programs offered.

These two-week camps will explore the foundations of Data Analytics, Cryptography & Security, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Software Application Design. Students can apply for admission into all five courses and list their preference order. Students will only be able to register for one course per Session.

This is a 10-month program that provides minority high school seniors with mentors, tools and resources to complete a competitive UC college application and the opportunity to get a close look at UC Berkley.

UC Santa Barbara Research (Summer Sessions)
UC Santa Barbara's Summer Research Academies offer a dynamic summer experience that engages qualified high school students in project-based, directed research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences fields. Students will take a 4-unit university course in which they choose and develop a research topic specific to the track they select, under the direction of an instructor who is conducting active research in that field.

Summer Research Enrichment Internship
Learn about the fundamentals of academic research through online Zoom meetings, interactive workshops, and virtual talks hosted by distinguished UCI researchers. FREE for all high school students.

Students are exposed to STEM-driven programs that cover topics such as coding and programming, robotics, sustainability, science and research, and the human sciences.

The UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science
Offers an eight-week summer program that encourages 10th and 11th graders to consider a future in engineering. Program participants receive a stipend, a program certificate, and a scientific poster before departing.

The UC Davis Young Scholars Program is a summer residential research program designed to expose approximately 40 high-achieving high school students to the world of original research in the biological, agricultural, environmental, and natural sciences.

Awakening: Building Emerging Worship Leaders

The National Center for Health Marketing's Global Health Odyssey Museum
The CDC Museum Public Health Academy Online Summer Course is a web-based course with both synchronous and asynchronous components. The course reflects the museum’s mission of educating the public about CDC’s work. Admission is open to high-school students during the summer before their junior or senior years.

USC Summer Programs extends a tradition of excellence to outstanding high school students through a diverse offering of four-week summer courses. As a “Summer Trojan,” you will balance academic and campus life as you prepare for college — and earn college credit. National Space Club and Foundation Scholars Program
Open to students who will be 16 years old by the time the program starts, have demonstrated high academic success, and have an interest in space science or engineering as a career. Must have a unweighted 3.0 GPA to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

The WIE Change the World summer program is designed for rising 11th and 12th grade high school women, though open to all, who are considering majoring in engineering. This week-long, residential program introduces participants to campus life and the various engineering departments and majors at the University of Maryland.

City Year, Washington DC (Americorps) -
Graduating seniors who are not sure what they want to do after high school should consider applying for a paid community service position with City Year, Washington, DC., a group of 17-24 year olds committed to full-time service for ten months in the Washington, DC community.

Latino Community Leadership Seminar at Notre Dame University
This merit-based, leadership scholarship was created by the Institute for Latino Studies (ILS) as part of its mission to advance the understanding of the fastest growing and youngest population in the United States and the Catholic Church.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Princeton University Summer Journalism Program
The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is a year-long college preparation program for high school juniors who are interested in journalism. For low-income sophomores or juniors with at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) who have an interest in journalism. The cost is free including travel costs to and from Princeton!
