Kennedy Cares

School-Based Psychiatric Social Workers (PSWs) services provide a range of preventive, early intervention, and acute mental health assessments and treatments in group, individual, classroom or family modalities. PSWs support a school-wide foundation of positive discipline, safe climate, academic success, and mental and emotional wellness by helping develop and sustain a caring school environment that promotes problem-solving skills and positive behavior support. PSWs lead school-wide campaigns to support a positive and safe school environment, facilitate evidence-based practices in the classroom to support student well-being and resilience, facilitate parenting/caregivers groups, consultation services for staff and families, and promotes emotional well-being of all students, families and staff through referrals and supports.
